Kentucky Headhunters and Confederate Railroad
Southern rock band, The Kentucky HeadHunters, originated in Kentucky in 1986 with an eclectic, guitar-heavy sound influenced by country, blues, heavy metal and rockabilly genres. The band has released 23 singles, 10 studio albums and three compilations, spanning the last three decades. The Kentucky HeadHunters have several notable country music songs including, “Dumas Walker,” “Oh Lonesome Me,” which hit top 10 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts, and “The Ballad of Davy Crockett.”
Confederate Railroad is a country rock band from Marietta, Georgia, with lead vocalist Danny Shirley, drummer Mark DuFresne, and members Rusty Hendrix and Mo Thaxton. The band’s unique style and sound landed a contract with Atlantic Records in 1987. Their first self-titled debut album was released the same year.
