Wesselman Woods

Wesselman Woods is the largest tract of urban old-growth forest in the United States! The oldest trees are over 400 years old, and several state champion trees can be found there. Wesselman Woods also contains remnants of the Wabash and Erie Canal, the longest canal ever built in North America.

The nearly 200-acre preserve contains several miles of trails, a nature center, a meadow, a bird sanctuary area and the 5-acre Nature Playscape which is the largest in the United States!
